Translate Title and Button Text

Title and button text set per app block or app embed can be translated into each language using your theme's translation feature.

Title and button text entered through an app block's or app embed's individual settings can now be translated into each language using your theme's translation feature.

You first need to turn on "individual settings" (Override the app settings for this block) on the target app block or app embed. This feature is available on the Light plan or above.

App blocks and app embeds for displaying a table of contents on products, pages, and collections are available on the Regular plan or above.

Values entered in the "Text" section of an app block or app embed can be translated from your theme editor's "Language" settings (or the Translate & Adapt app). There's no separate translation screen within the app itself — you use Shopify's standard translation feature directly.

1. Turn on "individual settings" for the target app block (or app embed), then enter and save the base text (usually in your store's default language)

2. In the theme editor, select that app block and open the "..." menu in the top right

3. Choose "Localize" (this opens Translate & Adapt, already filtered to that block's translatable fields)

4. Select the tab for the language you want to translate, and enter translations for Title, Show Button Name, Hide Button Name, Show All Button Name, etc.

5. Click "Save"

2. In the Shopify admin, go to "Settings" > "Languages" (or open the Translate & Adapt app directly)

3. Select the language you want to translate

4. Choose the theme, then search for the relevant items under "Table Of Contents Theme Extension" (Title, Show Button Name, Hide Button Name, Show All Button Name)

5. Enter the translated text and save

• You run a multilingual store (e.g. Japanese and English) and want the table of contents title and button text to differ by language

• You want to adjust the nuance of the text on one specific app block for a particular language

• This feature applies to the Light plan or above

• Displaying a table of contents on products, pages, and collections requires the Regular plan or above

• Only text entered through an app block's or app embed's individual settings can be translated. The common settings in the app admin (the default text) are not translatable

• If individual settings are off (using the common settings), this translation feature isn't available
